My Load is Lightened

“And still, after all this time, the sun never says to the earth,

You owe me.

Look what happens with a love like that; it lights up the whole

I am filled with warmth and light that is benevolent, joyful, and ever-

lasting.

It feels and looks like love

and error and sadness are erased in me

as I recognize that forgiveness is the antidote that heals me.

Every person in my life brings me love or teaching, and the teaching is soon

turned into love as I release and let go.

I am not owed; I freely and gratefully give

and my load is lightened and filled with light

as I remember God is all there is, all the time.

And so, it is. Amen.
